Coaches > Suzi Johnson, Leadership
Suzi Johnson joined the Results Oriented Coaching Service (ROCs) team in 2010 to follow her passion to create excellence in hospice organizational culture and operations. Suzi is a Registered Nurse. She currently serves as the Vice President of Sharp HospiceCare, which is part of San Diego’s largest integrated healthcare system, Sharp HealthCare. Sharp HospiceCare is the recipient of the 2010 AHA Circle of Life Citation of Honor for its strong leadership, innovation, and culture of service. Suzi’s responsibilities include strategic planning, program and business development within the integrated system, two hospice homes, community outreach and philanthropy. Her extensive experience in leadership and her passion for excellence in end of life care has helped to make Sharp HospiceCare the first hospice in San Diego to offer a weekend long bereavement camp for children, the first to offer a Memory Bear Program, and the first in San Diego to open two hospice homes specializing in end of life care. In addition, Suzi has been the visionary in developing a home based palliative care consultation program for heart failure, COPD, and dementia. Most recently, Suzi developed an advance care planning consultation program focusing on improving collaboration, coordination, and integration of care across care settings.
Suzi has been leading the organization in preparation for a changing healthcare environment focusing on quality initiatives and outcomes for palliative and end of life care, implementing consistent standards of practice for palliative care and hospice, and designing innovative programs and services to better serve the community. Currently, Suzi serves as the president on the California Hospice and Palliative Care Association Board of Directors and is a member of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization’s Managed Care Work Group.
